Dear colleagues and friends,
We invite you to join us for an online discussion on disrupted trade flows and policies in times of COVID-19.
The pandemic is exacerbating big powers’ turf wars, fostering protectionism, and piling further pressure onto a dysfunctional World Trade Organization. But it can potentially give rise to changes that are long overdue and that the COVID-19 crisis has made vital.
We are delighted to host:
- Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou, Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade
- Dr. Lucian Cernat, Chief Economist at the European Commission’s DG TRADE
- Shada Islam, Director of Policy, Friends of Europe
- Luisa Santos, Deputy Director General at BusinessEurope
The event will be moderated by Joanna Sopinska, Senior Trade Correspondent at MLex
They will take stock of the challenges in the world of trade and discuss ways to navigate the post-COVID moment for the benefit of business and citizens.
Tune in Thursday 04 June at 09.30 CEST on Zoom – link + password will be provided before the event. Join the conversation online by using #CambreTalksTrade.
